Photoshop Questions

I have 2 quick questions about photoshop.

I'm working on a project and I'm looking for brushes to download that will give me a patter that is similar to this but I'm not quite sure what exactly I should be searching for. Any ideas to help in my search process? I'd need a brush for the outer design and then another for the center part where the monogram is.

Also, I have a few patterns downloaded that I want to try but I notice that when I fill in the space with the pattern, the patter is so big that I only get a small portion of it showing. Any ideas on how to make the pattern smaller?

Of course I'm at work right now so I'll have to do more playing around with things tonight, but I figured it can't hurt to ask!

Re: Photoshop Questions

  • Jacqui is a photoshop queen! She can probably help you out. I'm hopeless. GL

  • The patterns you are looking for are called brushes... try searching for Adobe Photoshop Brushes.  You should also only use high-res brushes if you are going to have these printed or viewed by anyone.

If the brushes (I'm assuming you are using brushes, right?) are too large, you should be able to change the size by adjusting in the brush tool.

Click the paint-brush tool on the left side-bar.  Then up top there should be a little box where you can select which brush you'd like to use.  Click that, and a drop down menu should pop up. There should be a little sliding bar that says "size"  Adjust the size there. You should be fine going down in size, but be very careful going up in size.  I have photoshop CS5, but i think the procedure has been the same for quite a while.

    Good luck!
