We are having a volunteer appreciation event at the end of Jan. Last year we did a formal dinner and had a program. They told us they don't want anything formal. They want to be able to sit around and talk with each other, something causual.
So, I need a fun factor. Either in terms of activity or unique menu ideas. I thought about food station, with one of them being a mashed potato bar - but the potatoes in glasses and top off items.
We have a cool lobby area with a fireplace. I thought about after dinner, we could have the fire going and people could have dessert out there. Maybe a coffee bar or hot chocolate station (marshmellows, whip cream, and peppermint squares)
Re: Need fun ideas for a volunteer event
I'm drooling at the thought of a mashed potato bar.
For the volunteer appreciation event I get invited to every year, they just give us pizza. Works for me.
We have a chef at our place that our volunteers love. The food must be made by Richard.
Bowling!
Or does it have to be at your work? If so, I like Kasa's idea.
S'mores at the fire? I'll be Richard could come up with some fancy s'more ideas.
The potato bar sounds like a good idea.
Would the volunteers be into a game night concept?
Smores is a cute idea.
