How much do you

How much do you and your SO spend on each other for christmas?

Re: How much do you

  • In the past it's been more, but the past couple of year's we've kept it around $200 per person. We don't have kids, or it would probably be much less.

  • Before kids:  like $300 plus...

After kids:  $100 typical year- $200 good year

  • Humm... I always thought I spent a lot on my hubby.  But I'm right around other girls at $200.  A buy a big gift usually $60-$100 and then little stuff and stocking items.  I like to spoil him :)

  • Although we havnt actually discussed how much we spend on each other for Christmas, it seems to always be about $200ish. Like the other poster, we dont have children yet. Once we do, Im sure it will be lots lower if at all.
  • This year $100 each. We're buying a house the week before Christmas so that's our big gift to each other.

  • It's been $200 for us. Mostly because last yr. was our first christmas married and I wanted uggs so that set the limit :) we are sticking to that this year as well. We don't have kids otherwise it would probably be less. If we had kids I'd get him like a pack of gum I'd be too busy buying cute kid stuff!
  • DH and i usually spend about $250 each year.

  • Since we just spent a good chunk of change on our wedding two months ago, our limit is $150 this year.  Sigh...I guess I won't be getting my Ugg's.

  • Wow, we're cheap compared to yall.  In the years past, we've set a $75 limit.  Last year, we opted gifts and bought 3-4 sets of nice new sheets that we really needed.  This year, we bought a $300 treadmill that is our gift.  (much more than our $75 budget)

I think the main thing is what you can afford.

  • The past few years money has been tight so we've only had a $50 budget, but money is better this year so our limit is $300!

Hubby is getting a PS3 and I'm getting a KitchenAid stand mixer.
    I cannot wait!

  • In the past it was always around $200. This year because we just got married and we're going to be buying a house in the next month we're only buying a few little things for each other, really no more than $20. We'd both much rather have a house and a couple dogs, than to drop a bunch of money on christmas gifts.

  • This is our 3rd Xmas together, and I want to say that in the past, we've spent about $300 on each other. This year I couldn't think of a big gift I wanted, or wanted to get him, so I suggested that we just get each other a couple of smaller gifts and replace the cabinets in the kitchen. But, now he's talking about building a new house--about 5 years early!

I can't come up with a gift that big!

  • Usually, we spend around $200 each. We give each other wish lists and choose gifts off of the lists.
