wording for pollyanna

Hi ladies, I'm sending out a flyer for a Christmas luncheon and we will also be exhanging pollyanna gifts as well. This is done every year but on the invitiation I need some help with wording. This is what I want to say but if someone could help make it possibly funnier or classier I would appreciate it!   "Gift exchange will be held after lunch. Don't forget to bring your secret santa gift in the amount of $25."  I need a way to put the amount in there with the reminder without seeming like hey bring a gift. People know the pollyanna will be held but not everyone was around when the amount was decided on. This luncheon rotates every year and I'm hosting it this year so I want it to be perfect, thanks in advance!

Re: wording for pollyanna

  • I'm not sure what a pollyanna gift is, but why can't you put in there "our gift exchange will be after lunch. any questions regarding the exchange can be answered by calling akind at 555-0123."

  • Thanks. I think different people call it different things...like a secret santa. everyone shows up with a gift but you don't know who it's for until you arrive. Or some call it white elephant. Then you take turns picking gifts from the pile or taking from each other. So I just want people to remember to bring a gift so they can participate :) And I need to set the limit otherwise who knows what these ladies will show up with but I can guarantee it would be over $25 and I just want to make it fair.
  • Gotcha :) I would just do word of mouth about the price limit. I wouldn't want to put the price on the card or anything.
