Dr appt
Well there is definitely a baby in there! We measured about a week behind at 6w6d, but that's kind of what I figured since I have longer cycles. But we had a good, strong heartbeat. So cool to see that! My doctor said she didn't want to change my due date though because baby may have a growth spurt I guess. She wants to see me for another u/s in 2 weeks though because I have some "free fluid" floating around my uterus. She said it will probably just come out (like spotting, sorry if TMI) on it's own and it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
I also asked her about the whole epidural situation since our hospital doesn't give them to everyone. We didn't have enough anesthesiologists on staff to have one on call all the time. At this point they just need one more to make that happen. Until then, they offer intrathecal pain meds which is easier to give than an epi (I believe it's an IV drug), and I can get more if it wears off.
The best part is my doctor rides horses! She has like 16, and rides the same discipline as me so we had a long convo about riding while pregnant. She said I can do it until I start to feel uncomfortable (physically or mentally). So the plan is to have my next two lessons since they're already paid for and then we'll see.

That's so awesome that she rides too! I'm glad your appointment went well, and they seemed to have relieved you of some anxiety with the pain meds.
Good luck with your next u/s and any spotting that may occur inbetween. At least you have a heads up about it so that you don't panic.
