The other day I went to pick up some books the library was holding for me. When I told the girl my name and that they were holding books for me, she asked for my library card. I had forgotten it at home in the drama of leaving the house (those with kiddos know how that can go). So I told her, I'm sorry I forgot it at home. She got really ugly and with lots of attitude was like "You REALLY need to start bringing your card with you! Do you at least have your license??" Um, I've forgotten it like once before. I just gave her a look and told her nevermind, I'll just leave.
This was Monday, the same day I ended up with this stomach bug that has been harrassing me for days and I was feeling sick and didn't want to treck all the way back out to the car to get the ID with Elise and go all the way back in. So because of that b*tch I spent days in bed pretty much with nothing good to read. Today I'm going get my books, I'll bring my card and you better believe I'm gonna say something. Taxpayers pay her salary and she shouldn't be treating people that way. Really p*ssed me off.
Ha, told you it was random.

Re: Random...
I can't stand rude people, but that comment ^ is wrong and I hate that argument. Taxpayers do not pay her salary. Taxpayers pay for the building and maintenance. The library system gets grants and other funds to pay for personnel.
This is legal advice. Circa 2011
and I completely get that you have to have your "system." Hell, I worked for the public library for YEARS, I get it. But a simple "okay, just make sure to bring your card next time" would have been sufficient.
It was just the way she handled it that made me mad.
Regardless of who pays her salary, that would have really pissed me off. I would have more than likely given her a piece of my mind then and there.
You should talk to her supervisor.
