Guns and Shooting Ranges

Is anyone here a gun fan?  Does anyone here regularly go to shooting ranges?  How did you get into it? 

This is the thing.  I am afraid of guns; however, I realize, it's probably a silly thing to be afraid of.  In fact, it would probably behoove me to get over it and learn how to use a gun. 

The reason I bring this up is because Living Social has a shooting range/gun rental/a target/ammo package up for half off and I'm thinking this might be a good time to get over my fear (by going in and learning from professionals and practicing).  What do you think?  I'll be honest, without the discount, I'd probably never do this.  (Oh, and it ends in a few hours hours; so quick responses are appreciated.)

DO IT!  Last year I was totally pumped and was going to go with a friend etc.  Then I called up to the range to ask a few questions and the lady was an absolute biotch to me....so I got frustrated and never went.  I would be totally envious and jealous of you....so do it!

You should come to Indy.  It's good for up to 3 people for an hour!

Do it!  You will probably feel a ton better about guns in general once you know how to use them.  Its actually a lot of fun to go to the range, and this sounds like a great opportunity to do it!

Do it. I I have always wanted to go to a shooting range, but we dont have a gun to go. I am scared as well of them, but mostly because of all the stories of people being shot with their own guns. I am from Texas and everyone there has guns and never use to be scared of them. I have been watching too many last 48  and shows like that. GO GO GO. I would go if I had the chance!

I've been.  I went when I was in college.  It's amazing the power some of those guns pack.  They may not look very impressive, but they have some kick! Some of them are so forceful, they kind of stung my hand (...not to scare you or anything...).  Start small.

(It'll also make you laugh in disbelief every time you see a tiny little hollywood actress shooting some big a$$ guns in the movies.)
