What, if anything, would you bring?
I was reading the post below about when people ask what they can bring, and thinking about an event we're invited to next Friday.
DH's coworker has invited us over to watch "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." He has invited several coworkers, and it starts at 8 pm. I asked DH to ask if we could bring anything, and coworker said, "Just bring whatever you like. It's pretty casual and dinner won't be served." Now, if it was adults-only, I would take a bottle of our favorite wine, but this family has little kids who will also be there, and I don't want to assume anything.
So, what, if anything, would you take?

lol This is basically what DH said when we just talked too, and we don't have kids. He was just speculating. Good to hear it from someone with experience!
I like your puppy chow idea. I don't know them well enough to know about allergies, but I do know how to make it gluten free just in case (thanks to a friend with Celiacs
)
Yep, I like this idea.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Agreed with Jim&Jaime on all points.
Pigs in a blanket! Easy to make and loved by children and adults alike!
You can bring ketchup and mustard, but also make a nicer sauce for the adults.
