Unplanted bulbs

I did not get my tulip and daffodil bulbs planted in time. Will they still be okay to plant next fall or should I just dispose of them?

Re: Unplanted bulbs

  • Supposedly, if you store them in a cool, dark, dry place they will be okay. I've read conflicting information on whether you should put them in the refrigerator. But a cool basement or garage would probably be okay. I would try storing them and then look at them again next year and decide whether to toss them or not. If they look moldy or dried out toss. If not, try planting them. I have some I didn't get to last year that I just threw in an empty pot. It was minimal labor, so if they don't come up I don't mind.
