About 2 months ago a PCP that works in the same building referred one of his employees to see us. The patient called and said they have no health ins and do we have a professional courtesy policy or something like that.. So I talked to the Dr and he agreed that we would see the pt @ a SUPAH discounted rate. He saw the pt twice and the pt paid approx $30 for both visits.. not each, both, combined.
I asked this patient if they did flu shots in the office. They replied yes.
I called today to find out if they still had any, this patient happened to answer the phone, so they knew who I am. ... they say yes they still have them, i said I'm not a patient there but would they still do it.. She asks someone, and tells me no.
So, how about that professional courtesy, huh? I told my Dr, he thought it was ridiculous as well. I didn't want it for free, I would glady pay for (well, the Dr will pay for it).. but it's much easier for me to walk across the hall then to go sit at walgreens, or wherever and wait.

Nicole, my arm ALWAYS hurts for a few days afterwards. Not quite as bad as you are describing, but it's pretty painful. ick.
