Re: Holiday decor PIP
great post!
aw I like your tree! I want regular christmas ornaments because ours is such a mish-mash of ornaments we've received growing up. It may sound pretentious, but I actually want 2 trees...one for a family room and one for a 'formal' living room lol

Confession, we have two trees...in the same room.
Last year, we weren't allowed to have a real christmas tree in our appt. Yes, the christmas tree farmer could not have a real tree. If we couldn't have a real tree, I wanted something so unbelievably fake, and this is what we got:
since we had it, I figured we'd put it up to have some extra christmas cheer haha. Plus, I figure that if we have daughters, they'll love to have something like this in their room..maybe get some purple and pink ornaments too. haha
God, it kills DH haha

I want two Christmas trees too! Even if that means two in the same room...
LOVE the white one

hi ladies! i've spent most of the wknd decorating. but i'm not very good at it, and i still need more items to "complete" the look..but i'm getting there. it's just sporatic xmas items in various spots right now. better than nothing though, right?
the nativity set that the IL's bought us seriously 2 yrs ago for xmas. it was too late to put it out that yr. the following yr (last yr?) i didn't know where it was and was too busy with the wedding to go looking for it anyways. it's super nice, i PPH it!

this mantel? in serious need of SOMETHING. thoughts? bueller? it needs a bunch of something, i just can't figure out what. in addition to a hood for the wreath to go on. and mantel hooks for our stockings. it still needs something...i so suck at decorating!

and the tree? yeah...i tried to be unlazy and flip the picture to vertical...and it flipped the entire view. this pic makes it look like it is in the right corner of the room. it's not. it's in the left corner. as is the door and window. weird. i should have continued being lazy and not flipping anything....

thanks! hopefully i can figure out what else it needs to complete it so i can stop staring at it and repeating "something, you need SOMETHING, but what?"
yes, def wait until after christmas this year to buy a nativity set! day after christmas sales are the best!!!!! i'm so glad the IL's bought us a nativity set, bc it is something that i would never think to buy myself.
I'm jealous that you have a mantle! What about some colorful garland:
(I'm not sure why that dude is wearing a cranberry noose/necklace, but work with me here)
Or:
Although that's A LOT of gold.

Why do all these fancy people with their fancy mantles put necklaces on their busts?
I think a collection of silver and gold pillar candles would look good your mantle, too.

It's a statement. An "I'm so fancy - even my BUSTS have necklaces!" statement.
And yes, candles would look good, too!

bahahahaha I love it! Our neighbors have two stone lions by their driveway (how rich do you have to be to have lions at your driveway, btw?) and they have christmas wreaths around their necks and landscape uplighting!
Our mantle has the stocking holders and a whole slew of candles (pillars, tapers, etc.) with a frosty garland with pinecones strung between it all.
Lions? Nice! We don't even have a driveway to put lions by! Maybe I'll ask some of the hookers on my corner if they wouldn't mind wearing wreaths around their necks as a substitute...no?
You girls are giving me some serious mantle envy!

OMG I just spit my drink out! Thank god no one else is in studio right now!! And yeah, our neighborhood is not pretentious, they just have stone lions at the end of the driveway to their...1960's ranch. lol
Hahaha, every neighborhood has one! And our neighborhood isn't terribly rough...we just have some interesting characters out late at night sometimes. It's eclectic!
