AppleCare - iMac turning itself off
My iMac started having problems 2 months after the extended warranty expired. It shuts itself off randomly and it's very annoying. Google tells me this is a common problem with my model and it generally starts happening right at the 3 year mark when your warranty expires. I have taken in into the store 2 times already for this problem and they replaced my hard drive fan and power supply wire for free. It is still acting up. I'm getting really tired of having to give them my computer for a week and I'm frustrated that this happened right after my warranty expired. Do you think I have any chance in hell of them giving me a free replacement like I would get if the warranty was still valid? Has anyone had this happen to them?

Re: AppleCare - iMac turning itself off
You can try and push for a replacement. Your iMac is getting to hot. Some of the caps on the logic board may be going bad as well. Make another appointment and try pushing for replacement of the unit as a whole.
