Your opinion please
Do you think teachers in LAUSD deserve a raise? There is no motivation to work hard right now. In corporate world, if you work hard you might see a bonus or raise at the end of the year. What happens to us? We work hard and people call us greedy for wanting a raise.
I'm discouraged by people's reaction online saying we are greedy and to go get another job if we're not happy. It is very disheartening. Even my own colleagues are saying that we don't need a raise and that we don't need our health benefits. Maybe I'll go work for the CIA, heard commercial on radio this morning and seriously am thinking of applying. This is very discouraging. I seriously feel like crying.

I think you deserve a raise!! I am with you on this. I work for the State and I hear it all the time. "state employees are lazy they don't deserve a raise" I hate that! I have not worked in state service all my life like some of my coworkers have. I do my job and put my everything I have into it. It is too bad that a few state employees ruin it for the others.
I seriously think teachers need a raise. Their jobs are hard & I know I can't do it. They are part of shaping our childrens future-I vote for the raise.

You need a raise...I found out how much my son's teacher was making and almost passed out. It's embarrassing.
And really, are teachers really teaching anymore??? Every thing my son learns is based off of some test that he's "GOING" to have to take. There are no more piano's in the classroom, M&M's used for counting, no "fun" class assignments....it's all sooo mundane and blah!
The school system is terrible. I don't know why anyone would want to become a teacher these days...
Teachers deserve raises! And for those who think otherwise, they should try being teachers for a day, week, month, year. Jerks!

Teachers are so important and makes me sick to think how they are all underpaid. It's a thankless job but I'm going to let every teacher Marley has know how much I appreciate their dedication & love. Because why else would they do it for pennies?
