I'm going to need everyone's help in a few months...

This will be our new backyard.  We move in on the 29th.  The owner was telling me there are 40 year old azaleas back there and that in spring the entire backyard is full of color.  We eventually want a pool but will worry about that in a year or so.

  • Looks really nice! We moved in a little over a year ago and all Spring and Summer we watched as things bloomed to get an idea of what we shouldn't disturb and where we needed to add things. Much to my delight, after buying 2 lilac bushes (my FAVORITE flower), two HUGE bushes that I didn't know were lilacs bloomed in my yard! I was so happy! Start slowly and remember, you can add things each year!

It's amazing that everyone has such a different perspective, because my first thought was "what a mess". I imagine the pool will go smack in the middle. Don't worry, azaleas are one of the easiest things to transplant (at least for me). They're also easy to propagate from cuttings.

  • I think it has great potential.  The biggest PITA for me would be the tree stump though.  It looks like they incorporated the stump into their current design rather than removing it.
