We're the loud neighbors

Yikes. Was just meeting/visiting our downstairs neighbor and she was telling us she could hear us through the floor/ceiling. Dh went up there to demonstrate and my god, you can hear every foot step. Even the soft ones! Our floors creak like crazy. Even the cats make the floors creak. It's about 50% creak and 50% footstep. I feel bad, but really, there's nothing we can do about it. We've got rugs and everything. Anybody living here would make just as much noise.

Ha, I thought she was saying she could hear... other things. The floors in the classroom I work in squeak so loudly, too. I always feel bad walking in the creaky corners when kids are concentrating.

ugh..this just confirms my suspicions that we're the loud neighbors too.  our floors are SO creaky! i always wonder if the neighbors want to strangle us at times.

Ugh, I HATE that! Especially when you know you're not doing anything particularly loudly, and there's nothing you can do about it. Then you walk around on tip-toe, always being paranoid in your own house. It sucks! At least your neighbor knows you're aware of it and aren't intentionally being loud just because you're inconsiderate.

Yeah, she said she thought we had hardwood floors and I told her no. We have wall-to-wall carpet plus a rug on top of it. Oh well. Makes up for her playing her TV so loud with the windows open.

My upstairs neighbors always sounded like they were doing midget wrestling! It was so loud! (But who knows. It was a 3 boys who were 20-something film students. They did weird stuff)
