We have a winner!!!!
Details: sunday December 12. My place in North Portland. I'll PM address later this week. Please post below and confirm if you are coming so I can send the info. Also, what time works well for everyone? 1 PM? later afternoon?
So about the exchange. Everyone should plan on baking at least 3 dozen cookies of the same type. This ensures that depending on the number of people we have we should each get 3-6 of each type of cookies, and we'll each take home 3 dozen of a variety of cookies! (if there are more than 12 of us though we may want to make 4 dozens so let's get a headcount!)
Please bring containers/ziploc bags to take your cookies home in. You can just bring the cookies you bake in a tin, plate, whatever. Also, it would be helpful to supply a few copies of your recipe to share with the group. Be creative! We don't want to all make chocolate chip cookies!
I'll plan on making a christmas-y themed cocktail/punch and will have a few little apps/dips. Feel free to bring anything else you'd like to drink or an appetizer to share as well.
Re: Holiday GTG: Cookie Exchange!
This sounds like so much fun! Can't wait!!
Thanks for putting all of this together.
ETA: Any time will work for me that day.
Can't wait!
Uhh. Must find a cookie recipe.
Sounds great! I will have to find some cookies to make as well. As far as the time goes, 1pm is right around Katie's nap time and DH has to work the half marathon so I'm not sure what time he'll be back. I could do either mornings (say 11am) or later afternoon (3 or 4 pm) with her.

I like the 11 suggestion too.
Also, there's no way I'll have time to make cookies, so I'm going to opt out of that part, OK? : )
11 am works for me.
Don't count me for the cookie exchange though; I'm not much of a baker.
Unfortunately, I have to skip this GTG. I have two other parties that day (and they are an hour apart!). Have fun ladies. Have a mimosa for me!
ETA: The parties are an hour's driving time apart.

Not sure what to bring for brunch- I'll do some research.
I practiced my cookies last night for dh's work just in case they weren't tasty. lol

As far as brunch goes, I'm planning on making some oatmeal muffins, cinnamon rolls, a ham and cheese strata, and an apple/almond salad type recipe (it has vanilla yogurt in it)
I'll also have OJ, mimosas and sparkling apple juice! We also have hot cocoa or chai tea available here.
I think there will be 7-10 of us here. Anything you'd like to bring would be fine!! But don't feel obligated!
Esther, those cookies sound amazing!!!
