The last 3 boxes are nearly impossible...

I'm trying to surprise DH and have our last 3 boxes unpacked when he gets home from work today, but I feel like it's nearly impossible!! We've put off these pesky 3 boxes for almost a month now. They're just taking up room. And they're literally ALL picture frames. I don't have enough room for them. I'm debating storing them or giving them to Goodwill. I just can't decide! I've got some weird attachment to them!!

Re: The last 3 boxes are nearly impossible...

  • aw..you can do it!!!  Maybe just store them for now until you can decide what to do with them instead of deciding quick to get them out of the way so you are unpacked?  Do you have somewhere that you could put them???  My last box to unpack was the picture frames too hahah I ended up putting the whole box in one of our closets lol
  • I wish I could do that! Our new place is pretty small, and I've pretty much utilized all of the storage space already. I'm thinking Goodwill is going to be the only option!!
  • are there a lot that you need to get rid of?  maybe if you don't want to part with them you could find places to set them until you get pictures in them? We did that with a few of ours and just had empty frames until we got the pictures printed..idk if that would bother you or not haha it'd probably bother some people to have empty frames on the walls/tables
  • I hadn't thought of that! I might actually do that with the ones that I plan to hang. I'm all out of places to set frames though. So if it can't hang or set somewhere, it's going to Goodwill! I got the Goodwill box all packed up. No joke, I bet there's at least 20 frames in there...
  • Can you stash some under the bed?

  • I know the feeling.  We haven't even started pictures, but I am sure there are 2 boxes of just frames downstairs in the basement.  I am not getting rid of any until I decide if I want to put new pictures in them.

Do you have a desk at work?  Could you take any frames to work?

    only 3 boxes left...

  • Thanks for the encouragement ladies :) All 3 boxes are now finished!! One box will remain in storage, one box is empty, and one is going to Goodwill.

Courtney--I love murals like that! We've got 2 setup already :) One is all wedding pictures! I hope that isn't too many wedding pictures!

  • I LOVE that mural idea courtney!! We already sort of have something like that going with family pictures..I wonder if we could add to that..hmmm....It's in DH's office though so I don't want to over run his space because its sort of like his mancave haha.

Yay for getting all of your boxes unpacked Ainslee!! :D  Maybe I should unpack our last box instead of being lazy and just keeping it in the closet haha

  • I am totally jealous you are finished!!  if you are really bored and want to take a trip to Chicago to unpack someone else's stuff...  I have a whole house full! Our sea of boxes in the living room is now the size of a man-made lake.   Our bedroom (with my clothes) and the guest bedroom (with my husband's clothes) are mostly finished.   And I haven't been down in the basement since this morning- but he did all the DVDs/CDs/his books... so... that must be pretty good.   And then there is my office.  That is the project for this week, I think!  I have two boxes for amvets or salvation army already-  I got rid of a buch of mugs and random plates of mine today.  Now I need to convince my husband that his mom got new dishes for a reason- b/c hers from 1972 were ugly!!  We have two new (every day and slightly nicer) sets of dishes!

I understand about the boxes of frames... we have at least 4 of them so far. I am planning on two walls of murals as well.  And our rooms will be slightly "themed".   Sports in one room in the basement,  music (concert posters/band posters/signed posters) in another,  general travel in one room,  travel/ireland in the kitchen (people give us way too much Ireland related stuff, and we both gave each other framed pictures from our first trip for our first Christmas 3 years ago), family in the living room, etc.

Congrats on the end of the boxes!
