Hi Ladies! :)

Hi girls! Just wanted to pop over here and say hello. DH and I are in the process of relocating to the QC, his company is moving us there. We're both from IL originally (and we're moving to the IL side) so we are pretty excited to be coming back "home" after almost six years here in Iowa. We should be there permanently shortly after the first of the year.

I know this board isn't super active, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway. :) I usually hang out on WC, and honestly, I'm excited to be in an area that even has a local Nest board!

I'll probably be back with lots of questions about the area - most likely about where to shop and eat. Stick out tongue

Re: Hi Ladies! :)

  • Vonmaur!!

Hehe, hi! Welcome to the board.  I'm from the QC (IL side) and was recently married there (10/16), but live in Chicago.

But seriously, Vonmaur :O)  I have also had some great finds at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Some of the restaurants I miss from home are: Cafe Fresh (Moline), Biaggi's (Davenport), Happy Joes, Harris, La Flama, Exotic Thai, and Lundari's

  • Exotic Thai... definitely one of my favs! (Although it is in Iowa Wink) They make a great pumpkin curry!

Where in Illinois are you originally from?

DH and I are down I-74 (Peoria). We are up in the QC every 4-6 weeks (he's from there).

  • Welcome! Where in Iowa are you living now. I'm actually in Iowa City but we make our way over to the QC every once in awhile. Hoping to make it there soon for a Mallards game one of these weekends.

  • Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies! I'm sure we'll be going back and forth between Iowa and Illinois a lot.

I'm from the Chicago suburbs originally and DH is from southern IL. We're in W'loo/CF now. Looking forward to getting to "know" you all! :)

  • Call me a little crazy... but doesn't it seem the older one gets, the more we like department stores?

    Welcome!

We've got Dillards in Iowa City. Not too far from the border!

I do agree I buy more and more for department stores. I think I've officially outgrown American Eagle, Abercrombie, etc.
