I've just been notified that I will be saying a speech at a wedding that I am in on Saturday (she doesnt have an MOH because she didnt want to make it "official" for one of her friends). It's for my best friend. The other two bridesmaids are doing a "joint" speech and I am kinda left on my own. She told me to keep it short. Any ideas, or any cute things you remember from your wedding speeches?

I guess I don't have advice on what TO do, but I have advice on what NOT to do!
Don't do anything embarrassing. You might think it'll get a laugh, but it's really just embarrassing. I've been to way too many weddings where the best man made the joke about how the length of his speech equals the length of the sex that night, then sat down. It's just horrible.
Also, don't be a crying mess. Sure it's emotional, but practice your speech enough where you can get through it without being a blubbery mess. I've been to tons of wedding where I couldn't understand anything the girl was saying because she was crying so hard. It's not cool for any of the guests.
I also prefer speeches that talk about the couple and how they met and all that... I don't like it when girls talk about being in grade school together. Everyone was a kid once, so those stories aren't usually as cute as the speaker thinks they are.

Good evening everyone, For those of you who might not knowme, my name is Amanda. I have had the pleasure of knowing Sara since the secondgrade. We?ve shared 18 wonderful years of memories.
From the time I met Sara, I knew she was very special. Shehas the biggest heart and always put her friends before herself. To me she is more than a friend, she is my sister. Because I love her so much, I immediately agreed when sheasked me to become her bridesmaid. This is my way of paying her back for allthe good things that she has done for me
If this incredible day is any sign of what is to come foryour future, you two will be truly blessed. And I hope that today,people will forget my speech but people will never forget how you made themfeel today. Just look around, the room is filled with love for the two of you.
