My ILs sent me this really pretty ceramic vase for Hanukkah... and besides being a source of entertainment for Dewey, I don't know what to do with it. The top is too small to put a plant in. I don't really know where to put it either because Dewey will most likely try to knock it over. I was thinking of putting in some dry arrangement but the monster would eat that too... soooo, pretty vase, nothing practical I can think of. Anyone have any disaster-safe ideas?

Re: decorating advice
I can't see the photo (work) but we have a big vase on our mantle that I just leave empty. Do you have a fireplace?
Otherwise, maybe on a bookshelf where he can't get to it, or is less likely to knock it over?
I would say put it in a bookshelf if you have one, if you don't think that Dewey will knock it over.
If you'd like to keep it on the floor, I'd fill it with decorative branches and then fill the vase with rocks...something that will be heavy that he can't knock over.
I think it's a little to wide for our mantle... otherwise that would work. That tends to be where I hide most of the breakables. Megan, the rocks to weigh it down are a great idea-- though I think he'd kill the branches. If he eats them, he eats them...
We need a bookcase- I'm keeping my eyes out for one.
