Best Locally Owned Gift Shop?

Hello all.  I moved to STL in May, but haven't explored as much as I would have liked.  I'm trying to buy Christmas gifts from locally-owned stores, but am not completely sure where to start.

I'd love suggestions of reasonably-priced, locally-owned stores to visit for gifts.

Re: Best Locally Owned Gift Shop?

  • I'm not sure what area you are in or what kind of gifts you want, but here are a couple of my favorites:

     - Down by the Station (in Kirkwood) - ornaments, decor, cards, baby stuff, household goods

    - Kirkwood Farmer's Market Holiday shop: lots of goodies and great little gifts for inexpensive prices! Got all my secret Santa gifts here last year.

    - Webster Groves Bookshop - great little book shop!

    - Apple of your Eye (Webster) - lots of personalized items

    - Phoenix Rising and Silver Lady in the U City Loop

  • Thanks for the suggestions! Any word on when the Kirkwood Farmer's Market Holiday shop is open?
  • Not sure, but they have long hours! They sell Christmas trees and foliage, so they aren't just a 9-5 thing. I think they are open til 8-9pm! They are also open Sat and Sun but not sure how late (probably close a little earlier on Sunday).
