Wedding dress cleaning/preservation
Hi Ladies,
I'm new to the nest, but have been on the knot for a bit. I got married in October and am getting around to the cleaning and preservation of my dress finally. Any good local suggestions in the Tempe/Chandler/Ahwatukee/South Phoenix area? Thanks in advance!
Re: Wedding dress cleaning/preservation
congratulations!
i'm of no help. i got married in august of 07 and my dress is still sitting dirty, in the bag, in my closet.
Change August 07 to Nov 05, and hanging in closet to wadded up in a heap in the garage, and this is me.
In other words, I have no idea.
Congrats and my mom took mine to just a local place in South Phoenix. Now its in the bag it came in, in the back of my closet.
The place is on 7th Street and Baseline in the Fry's shopping center. I dont know the name of it but they cleaned it well and it was like $130 for it. They always do a good job on our clothes. Been going to them since HS.

I know David's bridal will clean and preserve the dress but I am not sure if it is only if you purchase through them. Maybe check them out.
p.s. welcome to the nest, I am a fellow Oct bride as well, I really need to take my dress in too
Now I feel a little less bad that I still haven't gotten my dress cleaned 6 months later. Though I am keeping it hung up waiting for my rock the dress shoot eventually and will get it cleaned and preserved through Uptown Bridal in Chandler but only because I bought it there.
I would call around a couple bridal shops in your area and ask who they recommend.
seriously. my problem is that it's so expensive to get cleaned, for it to just sit there in a box. since i want a girl so bad i will probably have all boys...and even if i did have a girl i wouldn't expect her to wear it. i'm sure things will be different by then. i really should just sell the thing.
Do you watch the RHoBH? Because Adrianne Maloof has hers hung in this large glass box on the wall in her bedroom. She has a really huge room, but I think it looks rather tacky!
OMG I thought the same exact thing.... I thought to myself.. Who does that!!?!? lol
Interesting. I can only imagine what my husbnd would say if I told him that was the plan!
