I'm getting aggravated with all of these stupid bills. Its not that our debt (aside from having the mortgage) has gone up lately...its just that its harder around the holidays to keep a good chunk in the bank to pay the bills. I hate not having money. I can't wait to someday say that we have no debt (aside from the mortgage which is going to take FOREVER to pay off lol).
The end.

Re: UGH debt
I hear you. Doesn't help that my husbands unemployment ended last week. Plus on top of the holidays, my daughters birthday is the day after Christmas, and my oldest son turns 16 two weeks later.
They're both already talking parties, presents, a car (hahahahaha) and all I'm doing is racking up in my head how much this is all going to cost.
I start my new job in January which will be a huge help..but if they hold 2 weeks pay, as most places do, it'll be at least February before it'll really start making a difference for us.

Same for us. I think it's like this for everyone around this time of year. We've been doing really good at getting our debts down/paid off...only a few things left to go (minus car and student loans) and we really want to keep savings for a house. The holidays always screw with your plans and freak you out.
The thing I always have to tell myself around this time is that it's only one month out of the year. We can get through one month.
Story of life. DH and I were talking one night about it always seems like you can't get ahead.
We both have student loans. DH has car payments (which luckily will be done in the next year). About the time it gets paid off, I'll need a new one. (Mine is starting to nickle and dime us.) We want a house, and have been saving, but it's so hard! And a few months before the wedding, DH had to get some dental work done. (He knocked his 2 front teeth out playing basketball in jr. high....the fake ones fell out in April.) Of course insurance doesn't cover all of that either.
I envy people like my parents. They own their home (no more mortgage), both their vehicles are new-ish and paid off. They have basically no debt other than monthly utilities. All their kids are grown, so they have money now to spend on themselves. I want to be like that.....

I totally agree, and I feel like its especially worse with the holidays too! DH and I were just talking today about how much money we will have left for Christmas stuff after paying bills and it isn't very much at all. He still has to get a xmas present for his mom and my xmas present which I feel bad about. I ordered his a while back when we had a little more money to do so and we really don't have enough for him to get me something but I know he will want to since I got him something...maybe I can convince him to skip it and just let me save the gift and give it to him in March for his bday?
We have all of his student loans to pay back too, luckily (or unluckily) we don't have to start paying them back until he is out of school and he plans on continuing on to his doctorate after he finishes his masters next year. I still want to try to start making payments on them before we have to start paying them once we get a little extra money but it never seems like we have any extra at the end of each month
He said his student loan payments will be something like a couple hundred a month...*sigh* it makes me sick thinking about it! I'm so grateful that my grandpa and parents helped me pay for college so that I didn't have student loans to add to DH's
I really hope that I get more hours at work next month so I can start making a little more
I only get 2 days a week at my job now which sucks, but I'm still grateful that I have a job at all! They've been talking about switching me to 3 days a week in Jan so thats good...4 days a week there is full time b/c its 10 hour days so it'll make a little difference at least. DH only gets his check once a month from the school for being a teaching assistant which is good but it really makes it difficult to stretch that through the whole month
Grrr I hate money!
