Re: Bowl Games
TTC #1 since 08/11 IUI#2 = BFP!
We are pretty pleased with the Insight bowl v Iowa. We would have much preferred the cotton bowl, however.
We really want to go to the bowl game because 1/2 the family is from Missouri and the other 1/2 is from Iowa. So it's going to be a family divided for Christmas.
However, it's too expensive for us to get there so we will not be going ($500/person for plane tickets alone).
Cotton again would've been awesome - and so super convenient since I only live three hours away - but I'm happy with Alamo. Should be a good game.
I decided not to go though. There are a ton of OKC Thunder games during that week that I would much rather go to [for free, probably] than spend the 8 hours in a car to get down there, money on a hotel/gas/tickets and 8 hours back. I know a lot of people who are going since San Antonio isn't too terribly far from here, so I'll cheer through them.
I'm happy with the Alamo Bowl simply for the fact that it's fairly easy travel... and because San Antonio is a fun place when it's filled with orange!
Granted, I would have been even more stoked for a BCS bowl. Ah well...
kbielak17 - is your H an OState fan or just looking for a good game?
Absolutely!
Doesn't get any better than the National Championship Game...
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
DH & I used to work in the athletics dept at OSU (him longer than me) and he's remained a fan. I know he'd like to meet up with a bunch of people at the game (and watch some football too)
yup...the most incredibly stupid match up ever!
Spartans in the Capital One Bowl = it's two-sided.
for a New Year's Day bowl against a great opponent (Alabama and our former coach!), but
that we aren't in the Rose Bowl after BEATING WISCONSIN AT HOME and having the highest opponents-winning-percentage (i.e. beating better teams) out of the 3 Big Ten teams tied for the conference title.
But I'll take it!

TCU in the Rose Bowl is awesome. One member of my house will be wearing TCU and another her Badger shirt.
NCSU is the Champs is okay. We shouldn't have sucked so bad!
This. Nothing great but the fact we actually made a bowl this season, I'm happy.
The Holiday Bowl and Fiesta Bowl have to be the two most lopsided matchups this year.
