We'll have about 10 (one toddler, one teen) adults come over after dinner. We did this in the spring and just had one app, a homemade cobbler type of dessert with ice cream & sangria & limeade.
Now I'd like to have everyone over again to catch up during the holidays this Fri night. Check out my menu:
- Sweedish meatballs (I already have the meatballs on hand)
- chex mix
- a warm cranberry cake w/ whipped cream
- raspberry thumb prints
- potato chip cookies (like a pecan sandie w/ a little saltiness)
- wine
- coffee
Is that enough or do I need more? I usually drink some coffee from Costco but maybe I should buy some Starbucks to brew or something special? Do I need a hot chocolate?
Re: Menu for small GTG with neighbors
If people are coming over after dinner, then I would skip the meatballs and chex mix. I would just make it desserts and drinks. I would add a bowl with fruit (clementines, grapes, (easy to eat fruit) and nuts for people to snack on as well.
I don't think you need hot chocolate. Do coffee, tea, and wine.
**I might swap one of your dessert options for a chocolate option.
Tea Time for Lulu
I think cheese and crackers would be a good addition.
The meatballs are fine. Some people might want something a little heartier.
I swap one of the cookie options for something with chocolate (either cookie or brownie).
You don't need to buy any special coffee. I don't think you need to make hot chocolate but I like pp idea of having some packets of hot chocolate and tea out for people to make if they prefer that to coffee. I also think Bailey's and Kahula would be good to have around.
