melissa, i'm shocked it only takes May 5-10 minutes to eat. is that a normal amount of time? do you feel weird pumping at work? i think that's going to be my issue... (assuming BF works)
I think it varies greatly with babies, but she is just a champ. She gets right down to business. There is no looking around, no thinking about latching. The second I pull it out she is looking at it like a barracuda ready to latch. She eats 3-4 oz in a bottle at the babysitter and I'm thinking it takes her right around 10 minutes when she takes a bottle, too. She is up to 4 bottles a day and I am having a hell of a time keeping up with her. I'm going to have to start pumping at home on the weekends after I feed her now.
I have my own office with a door that locks and blinds on the windows, and I've figured out how to pump while still working, so really it's not that bad. Plus I have a mini fridge in my office. It's really an ideal situation. I just despise pumping. It is a pain in the ass!
Re: Pam
that's great that may is such a healthy, quick eater!
nice office situation... i know my sis had to walk a mile (not literally) get keys to a private conference room, sit there and pump, walk the keys back, walk back to her desk. and she did it twice a day instead of taking a lunch break. if LO ends up at the college daycare, i wonder if i can just go feed him/her instead of pumping... just one of the many things that will get figured out when the time comes, lol

That would probably be a great thing!
Mayella is an amazing eater. Nate isn't even that fast taking a bottle with fast flow nipples.
That would be completely ideal if you could feed the baby at daycare. You would get to see him/her more often and it would be wonderful!
We have her 2 month appt. today...I can't wait to see how big she is.
