This board is really slow today :(

I'm hungry so lets talk food...
What is everyone having/making for dinner?
I'm in need of some new inspiring ideas to make

Re: WFD

  • I think we're doing a chicken broccoli stuffing thing that you top with cheese. A LONG time ago, I found the recipe on the stovetop stuffing box, H likes it and it makes leftovers for him to take to work, so it works every once in a while. :)

  • Good question! I really need to go shopping so tonight will either be tilapia with some whole grain rice and veggies or some frozen leftovers.

Last night was country fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy and veggies at H's request. I never fry foods and wasn't thrilled about frying last night but he requested so I did.

  • We're having venison chili (we call it Bambi chili).  It works just as well with ground beef or turkey - the secret is the Wicke Fowler's chili kit, which has all the spices.  We add kidney beans, too.

  • home made make your own pizzas.  aka, i am lazy and dont want to cook.  tomorrow is macaroni and cheese with ham and peas.  thursday is stuffed eggplant with turkey sausage, brown rice, onion, feta, and mint.  so good.
  • Last night was steak, baked potato and salad.  Tonight is pork chops in the slow cooker.  The chops are cooking in cream of mushroom soup, a can of mushrooms, a little white wine, thyme and garlic powder.

  • I don't know... I have half a pound of ground turkey, spaghetti sauce, pasta, & provolone in the fridge.  I'll probably just throw it all together and voila...dinner.

  • I'm not sure what I'm eating tonight, but I am putting some ground chicken, rotel tomatoes, and soup in the crock pot for tomorrow's dinner.

Is it sad that half a pound of meat isn't enough to feed me and Jeff? Embarrassed

I don't know what we're going to do when we have more mouths to feed.

Nor us (ie me), since DH doesn't eat meat.  Although if I sneak in organic turkey, he'll choke it down.

Ever since the sammich post yesterday, I've been whining about a corned beef sammich on rye.  Maybe DH will surprise me, since that's all I talked about last night.  If not that, then probably whatever I can scrounge from the pantry.  Maybe canned chili and green beans?

  • Last night was PW's chicken legs, mac & cheese and snow peas.  I also cooked up a batch of chili - just need to finish it when I get home with the peppers & beans and bake off the biscuits I made/froze.  Unfortunately for H, since I want to decorate & bake after work the next few nights, the chili will be dinner for the rest of the week.

The recipe is in the WW booklet that LTB shared-crockpot pork chop dinner.  We have made a few things from that and they have been good.

We had white chicken chili on Sunday and it was AMAZING.  The recipe was just from the little booklet that came with their slow cooker, I made him take a picture and send it to me!

LOL...Richard doesn't eat very much.  Usually when I throw it in with pasta it makes a good amount of food.

  • Jeff won't eat something without meat in it.  And a pretty decent amount of meat, at that.
