PIP: your ugliest ornaments

As I was decorating the tree I realized I had inherited some monstrous ornaments. I think we should all share.....

    I completely understand.

  • I don't have any that I think are really ugly, but I remember some from my childhood that were atrocious.  One resembled a styrofoam cone thing with glitter and beads all over it.  I'm not quite sure what it was supposed to be.  I also remember my grandmother having plastic fruit ornaments.

i mean really. for the past 3 years, we've tried to find her an ornament that she'll really like...and she just buys us something she finds on sale.

thankfully, this year they're not celebrating...so, i'm off the hook =)

We had quite a few runners up (there are a lot from the early 80's that were made for us) but this one takes the cake.  It actually has a little tag that says "squeeze my cheeks and get a kiss" (it's supposed to have a hershey kiss in its mouth) but really its just creepy...Santa's beard opens up lol.

It's bad but I can't bring myself to get rid of them because a lot of the ugly ones were made for me as a baby by my great grandma who passed away not long ago, so it's sentimental.

  • My H fully intend on having an "ugly" (family)  tree and a "pretty" (public/presentation) tree (well, I intend to have several trees, but that's neither here nor there). We currently have the pretty tree up so I keep the ugly or sentimental ones in a ziploc bag. They'll come out someday.

I have this exact same ornament (only mine does not have the tag, but santa would put a kiss in it every year for me)! It was made by my great aunt when I was a baby, so I have to keep it :)
