Cascade Winery - Great date night idea

I forgot to share this a few weeks ago. We met up with some friends at Cascade Winery on a Friday night for their pasta night. I worked with the winery for a work event last summer and have been meaning to attend one of those nights.  They have it every Friday night from 5 - 7 pm. The cost is only $10.

When you arrive, you go to the tasting bar and they give you a sheet with the different options of veggies, meats, pastas, and sauces. While you wait for your meal you cook, you get to do a wine tasting.  I think you can taste up to 6 wines.  Once your meal is ready, you can pick what wine you want to have with your meal. This is a great deal - you get a meal and wine for $10.

The portions are a bit smaller, which was fine for me. I think Brian may have been a little hungry when we left, but he didn't complain. If you have a big eater on your hands, I would suggest having a few snacks before you go. Or if you are light-weight,I would suggest doing the same. I was starting to feel the effects of the wine from just the tasting because I went on an empty stomach.

Brian actually liked several of the wines. I think he was dragging his feet on going because he didn't think he would like them. He has this thing about going to wine tasting rooms. He would rather go to the vineyards. Me, I'm just about the wine.

If you have a group bigger than four you can call ahead for a table. When we went they saved a table for us (we had five). There were four big groups, so the groups that didnt' have reservations just sat at the smaller tables in the wine tasting room.

  • sounds like a great couples date night!
  • Fun idea, thanks! I'd have to go with friends, since DH is allergic to wheat (pasta).

  • That's great!  I'm actually going to contemplate this as a gift idea for the parents - I think they'd love it. :-)
  • What a fun night out, adding it to the growing list of things to do once things slow down again. Smile
  • We went to the winery tonight to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion! It is a pretty remarkable value! A lot of the wines were really great, and the pasta was good, too. The atmosphere was a little weird and filled with older people that seemed to be regulars... but after wine tasting on an empty stomach I didn't really feel so out of place anymore ;)

Overall, great value, glad we went! Thanks for the post!
