2.) Who is the hardest person you and DH have to buy for? His dad. Usually it's both of them but the last 2 years we've gone in on a gift for his mom with one of my SIL.
3.) What Holiday traditions have you and DH implemented if any? Hmmm not many yet. We usually open our gifts to each other on Christmas Eve in front of the fire. Last year we went and cut down our own tree and I hoped that would turn into a tradition but it looks like that will be hit and miss.
4.) Do you have a tree up? (assuming you celebrate Christmas) Not yet, but hopefully by the end of the week.
5.) Does either your employer of h-bands host a Holiday Party? Are spouses included? (this always fasinates me - especially the second part of the question) My employer is a very small company and we're just doing a holiday lunch. His employer is doing a dinner at Grimaldis and spouses are invited.

2.) Who is the hardest person you and DH have to buy for? Haha, read this wrong. I'd say DH's dad, we never know what to get him. His mom is easy but dad, not so much

4.) Do you have a tree up? (assuming you celebrate Christmas) Not yet, we haven?t bought one yet. We don?t get one till like the week before Christmas since we get a real tree, we don?t want it to die by the time Christmas comes.

(this always fascinates me - especially the second part of the question) My company (my department) has an event at Dave and Busters and DH is allowed to come but after a certain time. DH's work, I am not even sure. He did have one and I was allowed to come but not sure this year.

I actually already got it, I wanted a ventless fireplace and DH gave it to me just before thanksgiving so I'd have it for the holiday season.

We just had my husband's last weekend at Texas Roadhouse and the spouses were all invited. My office (I'm a teacher) just does a lunch get together without spouses after the last day of finals.

3.) What Holiday traditions have you and DH implemented if any? Just us, not many yet. But we usually take a thermos of hot chocolate out to look at lights. This year is the first year we've bought yearly ornaments together, hopefully that will become a tradition.
4.) Do you have a tree up? (assuming you celebrate Christmas) We're getting it tonight, I talked him into getting it a week earlier then he wanted to.
5.) Does either your employer of h-bands host a Holiday Party? Are spouses included? (this always fasinates me - especially the second part of the question) His no since they only have 5 employees. The company I interned with and may work for in the future does a huge christmas party weekend but they have a few offices in different states and this years party will be in Napa so we're not going to make it. But yes that usually does include spouses or dates.
2.) Who is the hardest person you and DH have to buy for? My aunt, she's like a 2nd mom to me and is SOOO hard to buy for. She likes the newest gadget but will never wait for others to buy for xmas or bday she just gets it herself, but then gets bored within a few weeks/months when something cooler comes out. Still puzzled over what to get her this year.
3.) What Holiday traditions have you and DH implemented if any? We have some family traditions we do with my family- christmas baking and tamale making day. Also DH and I go to zoolights every year.
4.) Do you have a tree up? (assuming you celebrate Christmas) Yep, we put it up the week before Thanksgiving in the hopes that it'd be all done in case our little guy came early. Well the house is decorated and we are still waiting for his arrival. :-)

(this always fasinates me - especially the second part of the question) My company hosts a holiday party (I'm skipping it this year since it is after my due date so hoping my little one has arrived by then but even if he hasn't I don't have the energy for dinner/dancing or dress up clothing that'll fit either. DH's company is in California (he telecommutes) and they do host a holiday party of sorts. It keeps downscaling though over the last couple years. This year it is a luncheon and nope they say it's for employees only spouses/significant others were not invited. Oh well, DH isn't going to his either since it is also after our due date and we've got other stuff planned, him being out of the state isn't on the list. ** oh and what is elf on the shelf? I've never heard of this....

This is only our second Christmas together, so no real traditions yet. I think we're going to start doing something special together instead of exchanging gifts though.

No, FI thinks it's pointless because we will be going to NY. We're never here for holidays. I probably would have had him talked into a tree this year if all our funds weren't going towards wedding planning though. Next year for sure.

I don't have a company, and I'm not sure if FI's company does, since we weren't here last year and won't be this year.
My dh has always been the same way. But I've noticed that throughout the year he'll make comments about wanting something or he'll be really interested in something so I'll write it down or put it in my phone and then I have something to get him for birthdays and Christmas. He's also terrible with surprises, he'll guess what he's getting until I get frustrated and let him have it early. So this helps because he has no idea what he's getting even though it was something he wanted.

I've tried to do that, and then the next week he'll come home with it. He just buys whatever he wants when he wants it. Or it's something that costs like $400+ which we really can't do right now with all the wedding stuff going on. He has expensive taste. LOL

We'd always go to his parents on the 23rd, spend the night, and go to their Christmas service on the 24th, then come back home. Christmas morning, we'd wake up & exchange gifts, have breakfast, then head to my brother's house. But now, it's just DH & I, so we do whatever we feel like, I guess.

1. Most wanted item is a netbook and though I never thought it was gonna happen MIL said to buy it and she'd give me the cash. Yay!
2. MIL- She gets what she wants and at this point doesn't really need anything. I think we got her some jewelry and lots of pix of the baby.

I keep one that my family does which is open Christmas morning but have a stack from Santa in front of the tree which is unwrapped that (when she's older) my dd can play with at 5 am if that's when she gets up. I like the hot chocolate in the car driving around to see the lights written above, I think I'll try that this year with famly.

Its 9 feet tall and since we are showing the house for sale I don't want to put stuff out this year. I'll do a mini pile or something the day or two before and then put out all the gifts.

1.) What is the most wanted item on your Christmas list? I want the kindle (or like) or a right hand ring. It's funny, I haven't told my husband either of those but am SURE he knows. ha ha. Last year I was sure he knew I wanted satellite radio but he got me tahitian pearl earrings. I loved the earrings but was WAY shocked and it showed. I should just tell him what I want but he's sure he knows!
2.) Who is the hardest person you and DH have to buy for? My nephews who are 14, 14 and 16. Anything they'd really want is really pricey so it gets tough. Usually we get them clothes.

We have lots of traditions but now that we've moved back "home" to Phoenix things will change. We do a big Christmas eve celebration with my family and Christmas morning at our house with just us and our son.

1.) What is the most wanted item on your Christmas list? Well, I already got my big Christmas present (it was a combo birthday/Christmas gift - which normally I hate and forbid, but it was the only way we could afford it). I got a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens for my camera, and I LOVE it.
In fantasy world, I still want a Sprint Epic phone and Lightroom 3. Both of those will have to wait though. lol

3.) What Holiday traditions have you and DH implemented if any? Besides running all over Phoenix and back again seeing all of our families? (both sets of our parents are divorced and all remarried, and my mom is now divorced again - that makes for holiday insanity). One of our traditions has been to spend the night at my mom's house on Christmas Eve (and my sister too). It will be different this year, for sure, but we are still doing it. Oh, and we are going to Winterhaven with Bella again this year with our friends (it's a community in Tucson that all decorate their homes for Christmas - some pretty elaborately - and people park and walk through the community. It's a big deal here). I think that is becoming tradition for us.

(this always fasinates me - especially the second part of the question) Well, I'm a stay-at-home-mom now, but when I was a teacher, not really. Not exactly a budget for that kind of stuff. My dept. head usually would put something together at her home though, and we'd all bring stuff, and spouses would be included, yes. For my husband, I'm kind of annoyed because the first Christmas that we got back together (we had dated in college), was the first year that they stopped doing the big, elaborate, fun holiday parties. Now it's usually an informal get together at his boss's house. And yes, spouses are invited.

My H's is this weekend at a bowling alley, it is a small office and really laid back. Mine is in January since I work for an on-line retailers (Zappos) and this is our busiest time. Ours in HUGE, we rent out a night club and have a raging party with full open bars and food. Last year it was at TAO and we were so rowdy that we are actually banned from having company parties there again, haha. Our CEO really knows how to throw a great bash!
