It is 100 degrees in here since suddenly work decided to crank the heat up. I am stifling in my office - I have 2 fans going to create a cross-breeze of some sort so I don't roast to death as I sit here in my turtleneck sweater. gah!
Also...I cannot keep hauling the heavy boxes of library mail back to my desk. Books weigh a ton and they guy who usually arranges someone to bring it to me is out on vacation for the rest of Dec. The rest of the guys over there totally creep me out and I actually try to avoid going through the mail room but I need my mail and I can't carry heavy boxes and I don't want to have to make 10 trips a day back and forth.
I hate this place right now. I am looking fwd to getting in my car and going home in a few hours.
The upside to today is that DH returns home tonight from his business trip so at least he'll be back later...
Re: This place blows.
Agreed!
I don't plan on it - but the problem is that the guy who usually hooks me up with delivery to my office door is out for the rest of the month. The rest of the creepers / social retards over there are not to be depended upon for help.
::sigh:: Which is why I think I may be stuck walking back and forth carryin small handfuls like 10x a day. When I try to minimize my exposure to their creepy mail room antics.
I third this!
I'm freezing and your roasting. Can offices not find a comfortable medium when it comes to temperature?
This!
Or go steal a cart from Target or the grocery store and use it for your mail. Fun AND effective.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
This happens to me all the time! Last week HH bought me a cute turtleneck sweater and I wore it to work because I'd been freezing. That day I ended up sweating because it was so warm. I can't win for losing!
Same here. They cannot regulate the temperature in our building to save their lives. You never know if it's going to be arctic or like a sauna.
Instead of my space heater, I have 2 fans going today! Uuugggghhhhh.
Some guy walked through the library and just stopped in my office door to comment on how horribly hot it is in this area. At least I know it's not just me and my hormones but that other people are noticing it as well. It really IS hot here. Yucko.
This!!! It's always cold at my work too. I wish I was able to have a heater at my desk but the company banned them and if they see them they take them away :-(
