Re: OOTD?
Cute tanks!
I am in boring old work clothes & jealous of those of you who actually get to dress casual.

LOVE the tank, I'm a sucker for a purple tank...
Been dressing like a scrub lately. Finally sassed it up a bit. Here's mine today:
The only sweater long enough to hide my azz crack (from dress barn) Not hide my crack from dress barn, the sweater is from dress barn!
Because these ON jeans are too small
My new LS jewelry
and the old stand by staples
I loved the color of the tank and the detail on the front, plus it was only $5 so how could I not buy it.
Stef- Do you have to dress up for work? Sometimes I wish I could dress up again. My heels, dressy pants and blouses are missing me right about now.
Brew- I love the sweater. I can't wear long sweaters because I'm short and they just over power me. Ugh...I can't wear belts either because of the gut...sigh.
It figures. For the past couple of weeks I've worn something relatively cute, but after my super long day yesterday I'm back to my old lazy self. I'm wearing this today:
and a boucle sweater in this color but without the pouch and not so rounded looking (does that make sense?)
Since I looked cuter yesterday and plan to for the company Christmas party on Friday, I'll post those too.
Yesterday: (no pic ANYWHERE!) http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/juniors/sweaters/PRD~637682/Its+Our+Time+Striped+Turtleneck+Sweater.jsp with a boat neck,
these jeans
and these boots
Friday: a sweater just like this
my 2nd pair of the jeans above and these boots

So this makes me want to share my work dress code drama w/ y'all.
In July, our office mgr announced we were moving to a new building and need to move more towards business casual (and also no more eating at desks to preserve the longevity of our new computer equip). Right now, people wear everything but jammies. During lacrosse season, I've even worn yoga pants, that's how casual we are.
Everyone was biitching and moaning and I got kind of excited. I told everyone if you buy one or two new pieces a month, by the time we move (Dec), you'll have a start to a better wardrobe. I took my own advice to heart and was buying my little heart out.
Fast forward to post-wedding and a bunch of new clothes, I started wearing them to the office. People would comment how nice I looked and I would say I'm practicing for our new building. About a month ago, my coworker was eating in the break room (to practice the no eating as desks rule) and the office manager says, "well, we might have to revisit the eating rule as well as the dress code since Misty has taken it too far." WTF? You sat in a staff meeting and TOLD everyone to get ready for a new dress code and now you're renege-ing (sp)?
I found out from another co-worker that she created these new rules on her own and never checked with our owner. Apparently SHE wants these rules to be enforced, but our owner has no interest in us becoming "more corporate". He loves the laid back office and it's his office to dictate how we dress. So pissed...
Point of the story:
a) I hate my offc mgr, she's a two-faced biatch and is most likely threatened by my sense of style
b) I love our owner, cuz he's hella cool
c) I will wear anything from a dress and heels, to sweatpants and a hoodie depending on my mood or weather
Brew, I totally agree with all of your final summation points.
On the bright side, you had a great excuse to update your wardrobe anyway. Those are always good.

I'd kill a small woodland animal with my hands to be able to wear jeans to work.
We are not supposed to wear jeans but since I'm in the IT department and constantly crawling on the floor so I wear them. So far no one has said anything to me. In the last 12 years of me having a full time job I think I wore a skirt once and it was for a Christmas party.
