Holiday Tipping/House Cleaning Question
Hi gals,
Had a quick question re Holiday tipping for house-cleaning services. I read that it's usually customary to tip a housecleaner what you would normally pay them for their weekly/regular services....However, I don't use a housecleaner on a regular basis, I have a cleaner that helps me on occasion such as a holiday or birthday.
Do I still tip the full amount? is a small present or gift card appropriate?
Re: Holiday Tipping/House Cleaning Question
Depending on how infrequently you use her and how involved those services are, I might not tip at all. Does she clean for you 2-3 times a year? I probably wouldn't tip.
I will make the disclaimer that I am not a crazy tipper. I don't tip everyone and their brother who purports to offer a service to me like some nesties do - I tip when the person has given excellent service above and beyond my expectations. I have had weekly maids for years and I do tip one week's pay.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I don't use the service weekly, it's usually when I need that extra oomph to make the house sparkle for a holiday or special gathering. I would say we use the service about once a month.
