*jehawley* a VERY important question!

I was just sitting here, munching on my delicious dinner and a thought occurred to me...

Do you have Mrs. T's pierogies in Canada? or any kind of pierogies for that matter??

Because if you don't, I would be willing to ship some up there. No one should have to live without the awesomeness that is fried rogies!

Re: *jehawley* a VERY important question!

  • I'm gonna answer this! (sorry I lurked your post J)

We do have perogies. I think there's less selection in the US than Canada as far as I've seen. My grandma use to make the most amazing perogies from scratch. mmmm

  • I don't even know what a Mrs. T perogie is....Embarrassed
  • Homemade rogies are definitely the best kind! My grandma seriously buys a years worth at the summer church fairs in my hometown- we call them Church Lady Perogies because all the little old polish ladies make them and sell them for about $2 a dozen! So good!

  • I had Mrs T's last night with kilabsi with my dad, YUMMY!

I'm gonna have to try making them one day. It's too bad my grandma just did it all by heart and now her memory's going. My aunt might have written things down one time, but she never measured things out.

  • Ummmm I have no idea what Mrs T's perogies are.  The only perogies I have ever seen were from Costco and they tasted like plastic.  Feel free to ship me some!  :D

I think Cheemo (?) ones are pretty good.

  • I heart Mrs T.'s perogies.  They are sooo yummy.

Chris, perogies and kielbasa sounds delish.  Did you do onions and peppers with it or anything?

my dad chops up onions and sautes it with the piergories, I dont care for the onion flavor so when I do it, i just saute the piergories with some oil or butter instead.

but you could totally do peppers too, its a super fast meal! then you can just heat the kilabsi in boiling water for a few mins (if you buy a cooked ring already)

I think it's a regional thing. It's concentrated in areas that have a large Polish population. Pierogies are huge around Pittsburgh. You know how they have hot dog races at baseball games? At PNC Park, home of the Pirates and the longest streak of losing seasons ever, they race pierogies.
