Gross. Be warned.

My cats recently have had some allergy problems and when I was changing their litter the other day I noticed that the walls in the spare bedroom (where they like to hang out) have little dots of cat snot where I guess they sneezed.  I tried scraping it off but the tiny bumps on the wall make that impossible, I tried wiping it off with a wet cloth but that did nothing, and I tried the magic eraser which kind of worked but mostly just turned it white (eewww).  We have some friends coming to stay with us soon and I'd like this gone.  Thanks!

Re: Gross. Be warned.

  • You say there are tiny bumps on the wall... does that mean the walls are textured? What kind of paint (flat, satin, etc)?

If the walls are textured or painted with flat paint I'd say try to pick it off what you can with your fingernails or just paint over it. Textured walls are a PITA to clean and flat paint cannot be scrubbed and eggshell paint is iffy. You'll just pull the paint off the wall.

If the walls aren't textured or if you have a glossy paint (satin or semi-gloss) use a vinegar/hot water solution to wipe it off. It'll probably take a few passes to remove, but it will come off.

  • Have you tried using an old toothbrush to scrub the wall?
