The cat took my wedding band!
Just before bed last night I took my wedding band and e-ring off to put lotion on, so I laid them on my desk (not my usual place). And as I did it, I thought to myself, "don't forget to pick those up and put them where they belong." Do you think I remembered? NO! And guess what! We have 3 cats and my ultimate nightmare (related to my wedding rings) came true. Yep - neither one were where I left them this morning. I looked down and there was my e-ring. But I can't find my wedding band ANYWHERE! [Insert panic and near tears here.] OMG! I'm freaking out!! And we have a holiday party to go to tonight and I really want my wedding band! [In a whining voice] UUUGGGHHH!!!!!

OK, now I feel like I'm going to throw up with relief! I suspected that they took it under the bed. And I was right! Whew! Ring is on finger and it's never going on the desk AGAIN!
On a funny note, while I was looking for the ring, I found a missing slipper and my old top piece to my retainer. I'll never wear it again, so I'm not sure why I don't just toss it. I guess I'm just too emotionally attached to it.
MAN, do I ever feel better about finding my ring! I had not lost either of them up to this point. But this is exactly how I pictured it happening if I ever lost them.
You should leave it at your mom's house and maybe she'll give it to one of your siblings on their next birthday.

Jen, I am SO glad that you found your ring. That must have been awful. I never, ever take mine off, and I still worry that I'm going to lose them!
I'm sorry I made all of you suffer through that with me. But I had to do something before I exploded with panic this morning and woke up HH! It's all good now and I've learned a hard lesson.
