Re: Confessions....

  • My regional director is in town for the first time in over 6 months, and I was hoping to have a new job by now so I wouldn't have to pretend I love my job. Whenever he's here, I get assigned meaningless "projects" that never make a difference or that he even follow's up on. *sigh*

I just bought DH's xmas present, but my mom let me put it on her visa so that I have extra time to pay it. My first payday is tomorrow, but that whole check is already accounted for. I feel like a child.

  • I'm not really in the holiday spirit.  DH is on this (logical) kick to save money.  He is feeling the stress of having so much to do at work and at home to get finances/files/stuff in order that he does not want to be bothered with a christmas tree or shopping for gifts.  I'm disappointed because I expected more of our first official holiday season together.

  • I'm annoyed that I have to stay late at work today for a stupid department "team-building" meeting. Half our department leaves before the meeting is scheduled to end so I don't understand why they would schedule it like that.

Apparently we're doing these weekly....UGH! Really?! Weekly?! That's a bit much.

  • I spent way too much on DH this Christmas and I have a selfish fear that I am not going to get very much from him. Although he did get me a bunch of stuff for St. Nick so I really am hoping for a good Christmas. He also put the lights up on the tree and I think they look horrible. I am trying very hard to blame it on the wierd tree we bought this year (it has branches that curve upward and stick together) and not the fact that I think DH just got lazy. I will just have to fill it with lots of ornaments.

  • For now, I agree with Mel.  I just don't have the Christmas spirit that I usually do.  And that makes me even more sad :(

  • I'm easily irritated with H right now. Every little thing. He can spend all his time on the computer. I have to cook and clean and take care of the little guy. I get no time to myself. Even if i can get time i don't know what I would do. I want to join an exercise class or something, but i'd also have to pay day care. I just wish he would pitch in more. I'm tired of the dirty dishes left on the counter and sink. The clothes left on top of the dresser when the hamper is next to it. ugh... plus he doesn't want me drinking soda, but i need caffeine! I can't survive on 4 hours of sleep.

  • I'm resentful of DH being off work.

Not only is it a financial strain, but he talks about how he had time to take a walk this day or to spend the day on the computer that day.

I'd love to be a stay at home mom...and it sucks that I can't and he (without meaning to) kinda rubs salt in the wound when he tells me all the time he has to do things.

  • I kinda love my job!   I just had a snowball fight with my boss and colleagues for our departments Christmas video card.   Seriously- it's kind of awesome.   The downside is my office is cold and my socks are wet...   but, I love my job.

In other news- unpacking is going slowly. I just want an unpacking fairy to come and unpack for us.  S wants to unpack everything and just get it done.  I want to make sure things re put away in a logical and orderly fashion.  And if we aren/t going to use something or have no reason to keep it, want to donate it or pitch it.  Like a pot made of lead. Seriously.  That does not need to be in our cupboards.

  • I'll admit, DH has been rubbing me the wrong way this week.  His company is being bought out, and this week they've had big shots in from the new company and they've been wining and dining them like crazy.  I mean really ... the Brazillian Steakhouse?  They've gone out somewhere expensive for lunch every day this week, and out to dinner twice to places we don't ever go because they are too expensive.  He's been bragging about it, while I've had to cook or pick up fast food for my kids and myself because we're trying to make sure we have enough money for a nice Christmas.  Like I wouldn't mind going out for a nice dinner and drinks, too.  :(

And ... my birthday is the 28th and we just got the vacation schedule at work, and pretty much everyone in my office is off that week ... so I will be forgotten.  Again.  Which wouldn't be that big of a deal if we typically didn't make a big deal out of everyone's birthday ... with cake & flowers & such.   Not for me!

     *le sigh*

I'll make a big deal of your birthday! I know how you feel, my b-day is the 18th... i'm off this time (Surprising).

  • Thanks!  lol.  I know I've had a lot of them so far, but I've actually had 2 birthdays in my life where no one had remembered at all ... not even my mom.  lol

I would have taken off, too ... but that's our close week for month-end, and because I'm an accountant I have to work on financials.   Nobody tells you these things in college.  lol
