Extended Family Xmas Present Help!

I need help with some Xmas present ideas for DH's cousins.  Since I moved to TX (and we were now in one place), they have sent us Xmas gifts.  Being the horribly rude people we were, we have not reciproated - in part, because we were hoping that after the first year, they would not send anything!  My family only buys gifts for the kids and we do a name draw, so I only have to buy one gift for one sibling (I am one of 4, so it started to get a little out of control as everyone got married).  Plus, I hate to buy a present just to buy something.

Well, I just got an email that something is coming from one of them from wine.com, so we have to get them something!  In the past they have sent us a flower (like one that comes in a pot and blooms later), champange glasses, a piece of pottery from a local place.

There are two families - one is just H/W mid-40s and the other is a family with two teenage daughters (one has a gluten allergy).  Any thoughts on what to get them?  We are in TX and they are in OH and OK, so it has to be something that I can order online and send, preferably under $50?  Does anyone have any ideas?!?!

TIA!!

Re: Extended Family Xmas Present Help!

  • My first thought is restaurant gift cards.  It's very easy and not very personal, but sometimes that's all it takes!
  • Edible arrangement

  • I like both pp's ideas.

Another idea I came up with is movie theater gift cards. If your H's family is anything like Ted & I, we love going to movies but are (sometimes) too cheap to just go on our own. Plus that's something that the family with the 2 teen's could do together, if they wanted.
