sm23 - I followed up on your suggestion!
Remember a few weeks ago I posted a thread about wanting to go exploring around the area and I asked for suggestions? Well you told me to go check out Santa Cruz and a few specific things (like go to Chocolate, walk around Pacific Avenue, and walk on whatever the road was by the coast). So I did that today and I had a really really good time. Thanks for the suggestion!

Chocolat is a cafe attached to Bookshop Santa Cruz (or at least it was when I went to school in Santa Cruz and the last time I checked downtown). They serve many kinds of chocolatey desserts and different types of hot chocolates. My favorite kind is called a Sofia - richest, darkest, most amazing hot chocolate I've ever tasted in my life. I'm pretty sure it's made with straight cream and chocolate. It's on Pacific Avenue in case you want to visit
It is still attached to the bookstore.
If you liked their hot chocolate, if you're ever around a Max Brenner (mainly on the east coast except I think in Vegas), you need to go. I had the Lena today (which is milk chocolate) and it tasted just like theirs (which comes in white, milk, and dark) and they sell the chocolate as well so you can make your own. So good. The whole restaurant is amazing, a dessert menu 10 pages long. Ugh. I want to go when I go home.

hmmm will have to keep that in mind for next time I'm in NYC!
Butting in really fast..I LOVE Max Brenner. I had a chocolate pizza the last time I was there.
Chocolate pizza?? Oh my. Sounds like my kind of place.
I've had 3/4 of their desserts and the chocolate peanut butter crepe is my favorite. (I'm a crepe fanatic.) I also love their chocolate martinis. So rich. I'm trying to figure out which friend will let me take them there when I'm home for Christmas.

The crepe sounds fantastic. I haven't tried that yet!

I am always available to lead a NYC food tour.
I second this! We should plan this for after the New Year?

Butting in, yes!!!! It sounds incredible. I've never heard of it before but I am always down for a French chocolatier and/or crepe shop!

Sure!
Ok, so we should pick some dates, put up a poll to let the others know, and get this ball rolling!
So...what are some good dates? I know the weekend of 1/22 is not good for me. We're celebrating our anniversary.
