Re: Some early E08 fun.
OK, sort of baby related, but was anyone else a nervous seeing the 7 year old carry the baby around while walking? That baby is pretty big. The daughter (Piper?) must have arms of steel.
EDIT: Ok, I can read. I see other people commented on it in the other thread. It's not a judgment about anything really, just that I was tense and thinking, "omg, don't drop him!"

Haha, I think little girls must have freakish upper-body strength. That's why gymnastics are easier for them. There are pictures on Meghan McCain's blog of Piper holding Trig, so I think she's used to it.
I get the point that older siblings shouldn't be obligated to care for their younger siblings, but from what I've seen/read, Piper loves being able to take care of her little brother.
Anyway, I agree with the pp here. I think it's obvious that Palin had to have Trig with her to protect him from Putin's looming head.

Like i said --- I'm Judgey McJudgerson, and I don't even have kids. Little kids carrying babies half their size creep me out. If it helps, I pass this judgement in real life too.
I just don't get why Todd didn't have the baby. Think of that picture and it's power. One snap of her, him and the kid is his arms on the debate stage would have said "She can handle this, and he's got it covered at home". It seems like a missed opportunity.

There's actually a woman on my bus with a brood of young kids. Not sure if they're all hers or if she's a babysitting, but she usually has the baby in one of those pouches (is it obvious I'm not at the baby stage yet?). Then she can hold the hands of two of the kids, and the rest just do their own thing.
Also from that thread:
At some point Mr. Palin came from the back and I was relieved for a second thinking he was going to take the baby. But no, he pushed the little girl aside in order to shake someone's hand and then went on with his business.
I did not see the post debate baby hauling by Piper, so the visual of this amuses me. Did Todd really plow through the crowd, pushing Piper and Trig out of the way to shake someone's hand?
