Table extending for 10 ppl
Hi We are hosting a Christmas Potluck dinner party.
It will be a sit down dinner. Our current dining table seats 6 people. In order to accomodate the extra 4 people we were planning to add a folding table to the end of the dining table. and cover both tables with a white tablecloth.
Seems a bit weird as the folding table is 2 inches shorter in height and 6 inches less in widith. Any other ideas. I really would like everyone to sit in one area.
Our kitchen nook table is bar height, so that would not work with the dining table.
Thanks for your help!
Re: Table extending for 10 ppl
This totally depends on how big your space is, but you could rent two folding tables and put the dinning room table elsewhere, have a few round tables set up in the same room, or use your dinning table and folding table in the same room, but just not forming one table. At least everyone would be sitting in the same room... : )
Good luck. : )

Mismatched tables are what holiday dinners have been served on since the dawn of time ;-)
I wouldn't give it two thoughts.
Exactly this. You have the tables already. Who cares if one is a little longer or shorter than the other? You'll need two tablecloths and mismatching chairs anyway. I've used our folding table for lots of dinners and the only problems I've ever had is that, since it's a little more shallow than a standard dining table, placemats and centerpieces get a little more crowded. And, you if you have a series of vases or candles, you have to space them out so they look good running down the whole thing but are well-spaced/stabilized on each individual table.
Just sit the tallest people at the dining table and enjoy having all your guests without spending extra money
