What the hell

Our photographer mailed a jump drive with our pictures on it last week.  It was taking a little long to get here, but we didn't really think much of it, just thought it was the Christmas rush of packages.

We got the envelope yesterday...with a hole in it.  Someone stole the jump drive out of the envelope.

I'm furious.  Our photographer was so upset and she's mailing us another tomorrow, but COME ON.  Who does that?!?

Re: What the hell

  • ohmygod. That's ridiculous.  I mean, I'm sure whoever stole it thought there was something more exciting on the drive.  Not that your pictures aren't exciting, but maybe they thought there would be other stuff on it? Who knows.... that's weird.

Although, I don't think I'd ever trust it to have my wedding pictures mailed to me, but that's just me.  Our photographers dropped off the DVDs of photos in person.

Has she posted them online yet for you??

  • That's awful! I can't believe they didn't just take the whole envelope though? sorry about your pics, hopefully you'll get the new drive soon

  • That is horrible!  I hope the photographers are better concealing it this time.  Not that anyone should ever have to do that, but to be safe...
  • Holy crap, that's awful! Who does ish like that? I wonder what they thought was on the drive. I am so sorry, Bay! That's really disappointing.

I would be totally creeped out knowing that our wedding pictures are out there with some random stranger. I would assume that the person who stole it would just toss it when they realized it was wedding pictures, or reformat it to use themselves.

I hope karma is a biotch to the person who did this to you!

  • Steph - She lives out of state, so dropping them off in person isn't really an option.  I'm pretty pissed, but it's not her fault.

Oh well.  It happens.  It just makes me so angry that there are actually people out there who think "you know what would be awesome?  Stealing out of someone else's mail."

Especially since, ya know, it's a federal offense and all. jerks.

  • Wow!  That is crazy!  I just can't imagine what they were thinking?  "Hey, a jump drive!  Who knows what's on it, but maybe I'll get something good?"

I hope your photographer can get the new one out ASAP.  You're probably holding your breath for them at this point.

  • Wow bay, that does suck!  Some people just have no regard for other people.  What a jerk face!!

  • That totally sucks!  I once sold a book on Amazon and shipped it to the buyer in one of the Ready-Post envelopes from the post office.  The buyer e-mailed me a few days later to say that she received the envelope, but no book!  It was just an empty envelope!  I was also livid.
  • Whoa... I thought the PO was supposed to deliver these in a bag noted sorry, "damaged"? I mean... seriously... they're delivering ripped up, empty envelopes??? Anyway, yeah I would be totally mad too. I realize the postal system can't prevent everything, but it seems like lately, it's not super safe or reliable. (I am trying to imagine how anyone got to the package unless it was an employee who stole it? It doesn't sound like the package was just sitting on your doorstep for days or anything),
  • That sux!!! I am so sorry.

I had a problem with my tax return this year. I mailed it out and about 2 months later I get back my shredded federal return and just a note from the postal service saying they are sorry it was damaged.

Luckily I did the paperwork on line so I just had to print it again!
