Etiquette Q about leaves that get blown into neighbor's yard

We have five large trees in our front yard that drop leaves Oct-Dec.  We rake every weekend but inevitably, there are always leaves that end up in our neighbor's yard.  Neighbor does not have any trees.  We have never offered to pick up the leaves in his yard.  Should we?

Re: Etiquette Q about leaves that get blown into neighbor's yard

  • I wouldn't. IMO, that's just part of nature. You cannot control which way the wind blows.

  • Thanks, ladies.  That's kinda what I've been thinking but I needed to hear it from an objective party.
  • As someone with just a tiny Japanese maple in my front yard & a cherry & ash in my backyard but gets bags & bags & bags of tulip poplar, oak, red maple, trident maple, norway maple and other leaves in my yard, I ditto pp.  Not your responsibilty
  • My neighbor has a silver maple in his backyard.  I have no trees AND a pool.  I get so much of his crap.  And yah, the other day he had the ladder cleaning out MY gutters on his side because of all the little maples growing from HIS whirly seeds.
