New Years Eve in GR

Has anyone ever been to the New Years Eve parties at either the Marriott or Amway Grand?  I'm wondering what the dress code will be like & if it is an older crowd (parents) or younger (20-40).  I figure being GR, it could be all over the place.  If I need to get DH into dress clothes, though, I should start prepping him now.  Tongue Tied

Are there other annual NYE events here that you really enjoy?

Re: New Years Eve in GR

  • My co-worker and her friends are doing the Amway party.  They are all around 30 years old.  She didn't tell me if they were dressing up or not.  Have fun if you go!

  • We went last year and its usually age 28-35 at those parties. We try to do something new every year but this year we're hosting the party instead of going out. But if your up for a smaller NYE venue the woods is really great. They do special drinks and there is a small dance floor. and they also turn on the heaters on their patio so a lot of people are outside.

Was everyone pretty dressed up, or more dressy casual?  Or a total mix of everything?  I'm going to price out some other options, but since we're staying downtown, it makes sense to go to the parties included in the package rather than paying extra to go elsewhere.  Hopefully we like one or the other.  Otherwise, we may just hang out in our room with wine & splurge on watching cable!
