DH has wanted a Wii for a while now, so I finally broke down and ordered one for Christmas this year. We're both huge Mario fans, so I ordered the red 25th Anniversary Nintendo Mario Wii bundle (plus a few extra games). It was sold out in stores, so I had to order it and it should be arriving tomorrow. DH knows nothing about it.
DH just tells me that he has a feeling that MIL bought us a Wii for Christmas. Ugh. We do Christmas with the ILs on Christmas Eve, and then we do Christmas with each other on Christmas morning. Therefore, if they did get us the Wii, i'm sure he will want to open it and play with it when we get home on Christmas Eve. So then my Christmas gift to him the next morning is pretty much useless.
So what would you do if you were in this situation? Should I keep the Wii when it gets here and hope they didn't buy us one? Maybe buy a "backup" gift just incase they do?
TIA!
Re: Christmas gift help
Definitley buy a backup gift, but you can still give him the games, depending on if or which games MIL may have got with the system. Then you can just tell your DH the situation about you actually getting him the system but then finding out MIL may have also.
That's what I was definitely leaning towards. BUT I just decided to call MIL and ask her, and she said that she didn't buy it. So crisis averted!
Thanks for your suggestion!
Oh that's great, I bet you're so relieved! Now you can be extra excited knowing that your DH is going to love this gift and it's from you
I would be...
LOL, no doubt, gotta keep the peace with the fam ;-)
