Great ideas for a birthday?
I'm turning 30 on Jan 4 and my best friend turns 28 on the 5th. We always celebrate together, but this year we want to do somethng more special since it's my 30th. Usually we just do dinner someplace simple or even just go out to coffee. I'd like to do some sort of fancy dinner with amazing desserts this year, and maybe go to a show or something. Any ideas?
Re: Great ideas for a birthday?
Why thank you,
Urban Fondue also has a better vibe. Melting Pot just doesn't do it for me anymore. Make sure you request a booth when you make your reservation.
And if you get there early, or have time to waste after, the martini bar next door is great too.
Happy early birthday!!
I'm a big Melting Pot fan, I go there about every 2 months, and always have great experiences. The one time I had a slightly negative experience (regarding a very small split check mix up) the manager mailed me and my BFF each a gift card for $50. I'm all about great customer service, so that really impressed me.
I've only been to Urban Fondue once, and it was AWFUL. We had a reservation and still had to wait over 30 minutes (and the restaurant was nearly empty), our food took forever, the didn't have any of the wines available that we wanted, our server was awful, etc. It was so bad that they manager ended up comping all of our food and drinks, and there was 6 of us there. Of course, this was 3 years ago, so it might be better now, but it was soooo bad I'm never going back.
