water gardening (newbie)

After trying to figure out a way to resuse my 20 gallon tank without adding pets I grew interested in water gardening . Can anyone suggest some plants for my tank and/or some tips? Does home depot sell aquatic plants? completely new to gardening in general lol

Re: water gardening (newbie)

  • Our Home Depot does not sell aquatic plants.  Many pet stores keep a small supply of aquatic plants and you should check out pond stores and places that sell coi supplies.  That's mostly where I've seen aquatic plants.  Some speciality nurseries do as well.  The lilies and other really pretty plants can be expensive though.

For example, just searching I came across this place near San Antonio: http://www.watergardengems.com/category.php?categoryKey=402&categoryName=Aquatic%20Plants

  • You could also create a terrarium. Even less work and less upkeep than the water garden idea. Fill it with grit and tiny cacti. Add a few rocks.
