R.I.P. Favre

Wait...he didn't die? From the way the ESPN talking heads are going on about the end of his streak/career you'd think the man is in a pine box. Sad that he had to go out like humpty dumpty and not in a blaze of glory like he wanted.

Re: R.I.P. Favre

  • So it's over? The Vikings can actual win again?

If he hadn't blown it against the Saints last year he could've gone out with a Super Bowl victory.  Though... had they made it I don't think the Vikes would've won but at the very least he would've played another.

I hope it's retirement time for him.  It was all fun last year but this year just painful to watch.

He had the opportunity to do the same thing in Green Bay 2 years prior, but blew that also.

Eventually his streak had to come to an end, but I will give the man his respect for lasting that long. It's certainly something that we probably won't see again in football.

  • I know! I was thinking about that while watching the recap during halftime - you'd think the man had died. Good gracious.

I think he's starting to realize he should just retire. At least, that's what I'm hoping. His 40+ year-old body won't be able to take many more hits like that. I'm so glad he didn't play just to preserve the record...although, they didn't look that great tonight anyway...

Ditto this. Crazy to think that he started every game for eighteen years.

    This.

I pretended to hate him after he went to the Vikings, but deep down I knew it was bitterness maybe, but not hate. I'll be sad when he's done <for real>, but it's seriously time.
