ugg - can i really wear a youth size?

I'm thinking of ordering some uggs. I'm usually a size 8.5 in shoes, but I'm probably an 8 in uggs b/c they run big.

I've heard I can get a youth size 6....is this really true or am I going to regret it?

Re: ugg - can i really wear a youth size?

  • I am an 8 and I ordered a 7. I tried youth 6 but they felt too small.
  • I wear a 7 and wear a 6 in Uggs.  I have never heard that I could wear youth sizes.
  • I wear a 6.5 in regular shoes and have classic short Uggs in youth size 5.
  • I'm an 8 or 8.5 in regular shoes and wear a size 7 in Uggs, at least the suede ones. They are usually a bit tight when I first get them and then stretch to a good size. The 8 stretch out too much and then I have to wear sock with them which kinda defeats the purpose.

I tried the classic cardi though and the 7's seemed a bit too small but the 8's seemed way to big so I don't know about those. I want a pair but can't figure out what size to get.

I haven't heard the youth size thing though.

  • I've heard you go down 2 sizes and then that's your youth size. We'll see. It's too risky to order online without trying them on. I'm going to just get them in a dept store.

  • I was looking at this the other day. I think it was the Ugg website... if you look at the sizing it gives the measurements in inches. You can compare to your usual size there.
  • Someone posted this in response to an Ugg question a few days ago, about going down two sizes and ordering youth boots since they're cheaper.  I had considered this a few years ago when I got my second pair of Uggs, but was nervous to proceed on that route considering I had to order online to get the color I wanted.  I ended up just going w/ my regular Ugg size in women's so I wouldn't have to deal with returning the youth boots if they were too snug.

My question was this, if I wear a regular shoe in a sz. 7, but wear a sz. 6 in Uggs, would I go down two sizes from my regular size (to a youth sz. 5) or down two sizes from my Ugg size (to a youth sz. 4)?  I can never get a straight answer on this and I'm confused on what to do.

  • I wear a size 5 1/2 to a 6. And I bought a size 3 in youths in Uggs and they fit me just fine
  • My concern would depend on how tall you are. If you want the boots to be taller on your leg, a youth size may not come up hight enough.

I found the youth size to fit a bit more boxy as well.

  • It was me who posted about kids Ugg sizing the other day. I used to work in a kids shoe dept and women would always come and get the kids uggs, because they are cheaper. We'd sell out so fast, mainly because women bought them, not kids.

Anyway, I have a classic short and a Sunburst Tall, both in kids size 6. I wear a womens 8. Though, if you are having doubts, I'd definitely try a pair on if you can. GL!

    Ditto!

  • I wear an 8 in regular shoes, 8 in Adult Uggs and 6 in Kid Uggs.  The only thing is that I'm 5'4 and the kids boots are shorter on me than my adult boots.  It's not drastic, but it's a good 1/2 inch shorter.  It doesn't bother me because when you wear pants over you can't see it (duh!) and when I tuck tights in, no one breaks out the ruler to make sure I'm not cheap!!  It's worth saving the $$$, IMO.

  • So I'm a size 8 in women's regular shoes to would I buy the 6 in youth size or big kid size I'm confused?
