ladies,
i'm a recent transplant from NY and i have no idea where i should live.
i'm currently working in el segundo, and i don't want to be too far of a drive. i've checked out apartments in marina del rey, playa del rey, and manhattan beach. i'm kind of leaning towards a full service apartment (i want my own washer/dryer!) but i'd like it to be near fun places to hang out and meet people. it's going to be just me for awhile and i'd like to make friends.
any suggestions would be beyond appreciated!! thanks!
Re: help! where to live?
I agree with Pepper. My husband works in Culver City and it's super cute, now.
If you want to be even close to the beach, Santa Monica would be the most popular option - they have great rent control, lots of shopping, lots of restaurants, etc.

Venice and Santa Monica are kind of the more "happening" areas... more clubs, trendy places, ecclectic places... the boardwalk, Abbot Kinney, etc....
El Segundo, Redondo, Manhattan Beach, all cool places as well. My suggestion, drive around and see what you like, check out and see what kind of happening places/events there are (like First Friday on Abbot Kinney).... GL!
